Emotional design and its components

The modern consumer has become spoiled, he comes not just to buy a product or service, but also wants to get positive emotions from the purchase and interaction with the brand. Along with the quality of goods, it is important for a person to get a high level of service and a feeling that he is welcome here. All this affects loyalty to the brand and further interaction with it. Emotional design helps to form the right impression of the company, to make the user feel comfortable with it.

This concept is inextricably linked to the user experience one has when interacting with a brand and its products. In this case, every little detail plays a role in understanding what emotional design is, packaging design, the interior of a company’s office, product placement, and more. For example, how and where a brand’s products are located can evoke different feelings in a consumer: positive, neutral, or negative.

What is emotional design

In order for the client to have an impression of the company and remember the brand and its products, it is important to get a positive reaction. And this is where the mechanisms of emotional interior design come into play, where experts influence the consumer’s senses in various ways. To this end, a special atmosphere is created by using specific lighting, and music, zoning the room and filling it with pleasant aromas. Thus, the client remembers that at the time of purchase he was pleasant and comfortable, and these feelings will become associated with your product. An example of the use of emotional design is the presence of playrooms in shopping centers, beauty salons, and fitness centers. They always evoke a bright positive response from customers and contribute to the activation of word of mouth.

The components of product design or interior design contribute to the decision to buy, and a subsequent visit. In this way, a single positive response can give you a loyal customer. At the same time, you should not forget that such an emotional connection needs to be maintained and strengthened regularly, otherwise the initial impression can be erased. In this case, various tools will be useful, such as loyalty programs.

It should also be remembered that emotional design can reduce advertising costs. With the right impact mechanism, there is no need to regularly publish promotional materials, and place banners and billboards. You just need to maintain the design of the space, which will be comfortable and pleasant for customers.

It should be noted that this approach also works in an emotional web design, which is achieved through the right combination of colors, font size, and site structure. It is not necessary to overload the resource with a large number of banners or bright colors.
